ACPR Losag Advanced reconductoring – EPC feedback & aerial footage

Nice aerial footage & EPC feedback from an ongoing advanced reconductoring project on a 220kV line for Transelectrica in Romania.

For this project in a mountainous area with a continental climate, ACPR Losag was selected for its outstanding ice load performance.

This is the first advanced reconductoring project in Romanian history, following our field tests in October 2023.

Deploying innovative grid technologies can increase transmission and distribution capacity by up to 20-40 %, according to CurrENT Europe and Compass Lexecon’s latest study, supported by Breakthrough Energy

This first of its kind study at a European level underscores the pivotal role that deploying innovative grid technologies can have in helping Europe achieve its decarbonisation goals.

The study examines eight different innovative grid technologies:
· Advanced conductors ➡ HVCRC and Losag conductors
· High temperature Superconductors
· Storage as a transmission asset (SATA)
· Dynamic Line Rating
· Advanced Power Flow Control (APFC)
· Grid inertia measurements
· Digital Twin
· Flexibility management software solutions

HVCRC® reconductoring in Montenegro – 110KV line for CGES

Beautiful aerial images from our latest HVCRC® reconductoring project in Montenegro, and interesting feedback from Elnos Group site manager Luka Šaranović on this HVCRC® installation in a very difficult rocky landscape.

This 110kV line connects the Perućica hydro power plant to the capital city of Montenegro, Podgorica. The HVCRC® reconductoring will not only extend the life of this solviet-era power line but also double its capacity, while reducing electrical losses and solving sag issues.
